After Chris J`s comment on another thread I thought that I ought to say a few words about my recent absence from the forum.
A few days after I picked up some wheels from Chris at New Year, my son Robbie was diagnosed as having a Wilms tumour (Dr Chris will know what one is ). This meant that he had to have chemotherapy treatment and an operation to remove the Kidney/tumour. I`m very pleased to say that this has all gone very well and he now appears to be in the clear and his chemotherapy has finished.
This obviously threw our life out of kilter, but it does teach you what the important things in your life are and puts other things into perspective. For the few of you who knew about this I would like to thank you for all your kind words and support, especially "Bernard" who has been a great friend.
Unfortunately I won`t be able to go on the Monte run, but I will be putting a few bottles of bubbly at Shauns for you to toast our good fortune at Robbies recovery from this dreaded disease.
I will try to be more active on the forum again now, but I`ve got to catch up on all the work I`ve missed since Christmas.
I hope to see many of you soon, but if not I will be at Abingdon (but not eligable for the sprint trophy, so come on and enter).

Glad to hear you're all coming out the other end of what must have been a long very dark tunnel.

Best Wishes,

Chris

Hi Jerry
Glad to hear Robbie is ok and things are getting back on track. We'll really miss you on the Monte trip, but I'm sure there will be more runs down to Shaun's now we know we have someone who doesn't mind being invaded by Stratoholics!

I've got a tee shirt for you so you can say you nearly went! :D

See you soon

Jerry,

Really sorry to hear about that - must have been awful times for all concerned.
Pleased to hear things are on the recovery side now though, hope you and your family get to enjoy things again after this shock and worry.

All the best,

Stratos

Jerry,

Really sorry to hear about Robbie. Make sure you take care of him - and the rest of your family. You know that if there is ever anything any of us can do for you, we'd all jump at the chance.

And, sorry but you will be eligible for the Sprint Trophy - we want to beat you fair and square, even if it takes 10 years. :)

Blimey that would mean I'd have to get me skates on to be first four pot home!!! :D :D :D Bugger off! keep your plug leads on and show them slow V6 boys how they should drive! :D :p

I'm starting to look forward to Abingdon even though we've not got through the Monte trip yet! I best start practicing my big grin again........

Thanks guys.
Not only does Dr Chris know what one is, he also knows what it feels like to cope with one, a long dark tunnel is spot on and my hand holding the torch got pretty shaky at times.
One thing that all this has taught me is that you must get on and enjoy yourself so anybody reading this who is thinking of getting a Stratos...................GET ON AND BUY ONE !!! you never know whats round the corner. A good friend of mine once said that you only really enjoy something if you can`t quite afford it.

Could you help my bank manager get his head round this one Jerry? He's having trouble coming to terms with it at the moment!
