Hi all. I've been following this forum for a while and now seems a good time to introduce myself after an unsuccessful attempt to purchase a Stratos...
I went to see the Stratos on Hayling Island that was on eBay a couple of weeks ago. Had the opportunity to buy it then and there but unfortunately bottled out. Later decided to bid for it and lost. Kicked myself straight away but the pain has not diminished in the last three weeks or so.
I cannot yet find a space to build a car so am looking a completed project. If anybody should know of one I'd be interested to hear of it.
Will there be any gatherings of Stratos cars in March? Presumably, there will be a few at Stoneleigh this year.
Regards
Peter

Stonleigh is a cert, as is Abingdon in June.

Thanks Chris - I'll try to be at Abingdon as it's nearer to me but am definitely planning to be at Stoneleigh again this year.
Looking to buy a Stratos very soon. Now have to get rid of the Triumph Herald and miscellaneous Dolomite bits inherited from my kids. Think I've reached an age where I can have what I want and not what they want.

Hi Peter. Good to hear from you.
There is usually a strong Stratos presence at the AutoItalia event at Brooklands in April. I believe it is on April 30th this year.
This is probably the next event on the calendar.
Hope to see you there.
Have you thought about joining the Stratos Enthusiasts club?
Cheers

Hi Tim and thanks for the welcome. Brooklands is very convenient for me and will be a good chance to put some faces to the names.
I will of course be joining the SEC just as soon as I can get round to it. Have first to spend some time getting some insurance quotes - it is causing a bit of a problem at the moment. May put up another thread if a search here yields nothing.
Must make sure I keep the Herald rack when I break up the old car. Does the Hawk use the dreaded Triumph flexi-joint in the steering column?

Hi Peter
I`m in Salisbury and I`ve got a couple of Gp4 Hawk 3.0L cars that you are welcome to come and see although one car is currently in Chichester having some work done. It will be expensive for you though because I thought I wanted one after I`d seen a stradale car, but after I`d seen a Gp4 car I new I had to have one (or two).

Does the Hawk use the dreaded Triumph flexi-joint in the steering column?
No definately not, it uses a Fiat one I think.

I've already been asking about the Triumph flexi joint:

I am not sure if Nico's car is still available.
However, he did have details of another car for sale at this time.
It is a blue beta transformer. Looked very nice and the price seemed good too.
I suggest a quick chat with Nico to see what's available.
Cheers

That wouldn't be dark metallic blue, round arch group 4 body with gold five stud wheels by any chance?
