European recovery services - comments?

Not entirely Stratos related, I know, but any comments or preferences on which of the recovery services to use for the Monte Trip?

AA, RAC, Green Flag, any others?

What prices/restrictions are there?

I gather that the age of the car can be an issue.
Also, do they cover the car or the driver?

My UK RAC just covers the person whichever car they are in. Hope to get a discount to add the the Euro cover. I think is based around the car though as they do go on the age (the car before anyone atkes the P!! :p )......Of course I will be claiming my car is only one year old!!!! I think it was about £45 when I looked a few months ago. Didn't check how much it went up with age though.

I used the AA while I was travelling weekly to Germany. I only had to call on them twice in nearly 8 years, and the service was excellent both times.

It used to be free. Then it became up to 5 trips per year free. Now you have to pay everytime you go. Last used in August last year, but cannot remember the cost.
