Attached is a photo of a hawk rear wheel bearing and carrier. The inner bearing(arrowed) has around 5mm of free movement I do not think this is correct even though there is a receipt showing bearing installation by a Lancia garage. Bearing and retaining ring appear new, any ideas?

Probably ok! Try putting the hub in with the CV joint and torqueing it up. You'll find it will go rock solid. If it doesn't then it was knackered!

Found that one myself Shaun. What guy says is right. If memory serves me correctly, the inner race is in two parts, ie inside and outside or like two top hats together if that makes any sense.Once torqued up they will clamp together.

John.
