Nice try Guy,

Maybe you should use bigger type, I think Chris may have missed your question.

Of course, the other option is that Chris cannot provide the evidence in question and is hoping we will forget about it....tee hee :p

I take it that this is what you are refering to Guy?
Dont know who the driver is, maybe the crash helmet colours may answer that one.

Looks more Monte Carlo or RAC than San Remo!
I can't make out the numberplate - that would tell us which car & where.

If you check out Udo Sparwalds site at http://www.lancia-stratos.de there is a picture of a Pirelli car under the "snapshoots" section entitled San Remo that shows a similar car with the lights fitted, number 3, but it's not the same car/same year (even if conditions do look similar) as the stickers on the pod cover are different. Furthermore, I don't think the car above is the No4 San Remo car of Alen as the roof vent grill is painted black. The picture in Historic Race & Rally shows the mesh to be white. So, unless the car in Udo Sparwalds "San Remo" picture was also from '78 I am none the wiser yet!
Thanks for trying and please keep looking!

Thanks for looking and trying everyone, especially Mick for posting pictures. You'll be pleased to know I've resolved it and the car did run with and without the pods fitted on the 78 San Remo.
