The September 2002 issue of CCC (Cars and Car Conversions) has a test of my Stratos Replica and Jan Leach/Tony Aylot's Stratos Replica.
A total of 6 pages.

Have either of you made any of the recommended changes, and if so , which ones and what effects did thay have?

Colin,
I am in the process of doing it.
The new wishbones were constructed and fitted in time for a rally on August 11th - but the fitting process was completed at 05:20am on the Sunday morning, and the car had to be in Bournemouth for scrutineering for 07:30am.
We got it there, just, but had to start the rally without being able to do any setting up. It was downright dangerous!!!
We were adjusting the settings by eye all day, and by later in the day had it handling reasonable, but I didn't like the way it handled.
This weekend is going to be spent getting all the setting exactly where they need to be in preparation for a rally on 1st September.
He did tell me that, after having been used to the way it was, I wouldn't like the way it handled once I made his suggested changes, but that it would be quicker.
I'll know better after that rally whether what Dave Walker suggested has worked.

I didn't see CCC on the shelves the other day, so at least I now know what issue to look for.
Have you got Demon Tweeks 'sponsorship' on your car?
I got some dosh (well, vouchers) out of them when my car was featured in CCC, with their sticker being clearly prominent. But I had already registered with their 'pole position' club at the start of the year.

David,
Was wondering if you could do me a favor. Since CCC isn't found at all on this side of the Atlantic, would you be able to get a few copies of that issue for us Yanks? Payment should not be a problem.
Thanks,
Jeff Davison

I saw the article... excellent one of the things that got thinking about the Stratos again.

I've had Chris look in a couple of newsagents already, with no joy. If it's the September issue, does that mean it's been on the shelves all month already? You should've warned me!
I don't get out to W.H.Smith too often and no longer get CCC on subscription.

I think it's only been on the newstands about 2 weeks now, but about the only place you ever seem to see CCC nowadays is at WHSmith.

Jeff,
Picked up some extra copies at WHSmith today. I'm off on business next few days, so it'll be later in the week before I can post you a copy.
