Been there already, I think you will find they have a high reserve and that it is GAZ themselves selling.

Chris I might be up for that, I was thinking of posting the same reply!
They seem to be advertising weekly now on ebay but I think it may be worth it.

They retail at about £80 each, so the reserve isn't that high.
They are bushed not rose jointed so might not suit some.
That seller seems to sell nothing but Gaz, so either it's them or they've got a leaking factory! ;)

Hi,
If there's an interested 2 only party who wants to go halves I could well be interested too, as long as they are prepared to post to Aus. Can bushed ones be converted to rose jointed if one wanted?
These don't appear on my e.bay searches as they don't post to Aus.
I'll sit in the wings and wait, but bear me in mind...
cheers

:) Hope you were serious Chris, cos I just bought them!
Otherwise I'll be looking at the postal rates to Oz!
I got them for £160 +£10 post. About half the normal price, a good buy I think....

Rob,
If Chris doesn't want them they have a home here in OZ. (in which case I hope the postage isn't too much!)

I suspect there'll be another set on offer soon from the same chap.
I don't think you can swap from bushes to rosejoints.

Looks like you outbid yourself several times too! Presumably that 's the reserve price effect!

Chris,
No worries mate! First in best dressed as they say. If anyone spots some more hopefully they can let us know and maybe someone else will go halves too. I'm not really in any rush.

Hi Stewart,
how's the Aussie weather? -6 here the other night and me spraying a car as well.
These shocks come on ebay all the time at the moment I got a rose jointed pair for £105 recently. I may not use them as I then spotted a pair of Bilsteins with springs and got them for £85. If you are in no hurry I may know by end January if I want to pass them on.
Regards
Stephen

:D Yep! £5 increments with the odd £1 one thrown in to see what the reserve was... ;) Not a givaway but at least a bit cheaper than they should be at £40 per unit.

Should be to swap to Nylon bushes though, which was what I was thinking ......got to be better than 12 year old Spax bushes!

Hi Stephen,
Aussie weather is heading rapidly towards summer, although the last couple of nights have become cool again....16 degrees but the days are up around 27 and we have already had a few up over 30...sorry guys! I really do admire you guys working in the weather that you do!
I would be interested in a pair of spare shocks you might want to pass on unless some bargain comes up in the meantime. I'd probably prefer rose jointed but isn't a sticking point. My Spax have been in the car a long time and although they haven't done many miles, mostly sitting around during the build stage, I am not sure they are really working all that well.
I am still in development stage suspension wise though.
I will keep a look out on e.bay, but I think a lot of these shocks are only sold to the UK so don't come up on my searches.
So, yep, definitely interested in having first refusal if you are offloading in january, and thanks very much for the offer!
cheers :)

If you log onto ebay.co.uk you should get them.
I'm looking out for a pair of AVO rosejointed (£88 from Merlin I see) in case anybody comes across any.

Chris,
I had thought of that too and will have a look, but the potential of getting some off Stephen sounds a good enough opportunity to not get too stressed since I am not really in a rush.

Chris,
Thanks for the update..decisions decisions....!
Stephen, should I wait and see what you want to do or take the opporunity and get these? A little more expensive than the ones that Rob bought but not much at 90 quid.
Of course I'll have to sweet talk Bernie into letting me get them sent to his place and then posting them out to Aus....
Guidance gents!
cheers

Hi Stewart
I think I would go for it If I were you, as at this moment I am not quite sure which of my three choices I will use. Busy with the other kit at the moment, got to get it done before christmas to start the New year working on the Strato's

If anyone is interested I have a surplus pair of Penske 8100 series dampers I am willing to sell. They are 12" open/ 8.875" closed with 1/2" spherical bearings, remote canisters, seperate rebound/ compression adjustment (25 and 6 settings respectively). They come with the spring seats. They are used but in good condition: no leaks, tight bearings etc. The canisters are gas charged (preferably with nitrogen) and they will needto be recharged (this is a basic part of the tuning process). The units are user rebuildable although if necessary SPA design (who are the agents) can do this.
Obviously a bit over the top for a road car they would be the thing for competition. If you are interested pm me.
Colin
