Does anybody know how to convert Pantone numbers to something paint shops can use? Or can they convert them already? I have 1 pantone number and one colour name I'm trying to match.
For that matter, how do you go from Pantone numbers to RGB or CMYK?Answered this myself! conversion tables (http://www.seoconsultants.com/css/colors/conversion/) :)
Maybe I need to go and get my colours done, I might look good in Fuschia! ;)

Hello Chris,
"Pantone" Colours and paint colours are not comparible. I work with the "Pantone System" every day and the names and colours of inks are not the same as paints.
On a technical point, inks are transparent whereas paints are opaque and it is this point alone where trying to compare them fails.
Your only option is if you only have a Pms reference (Pms stands for Pantone Matching System - not pre-menst.......forget it!!), try to obtain a "chip" (colour sample) and see if your local paint manufacturer can match it for you.
I can help if you are struggling on obtaining "chips".
Does that help - probably not - i'll shut up then!

The colours I'm trying to match are Reflex Blue and Pantone 109c - I can now print them out thanks to the RGB conversion tables I referred to above. Would I take a printed bit of paper to the paint shop?

Oh no!
If you WANT Reflex Blue and WANT 109 Yellow, then you need the correct "Chips" to be accurate enough, what ever you print out on your printer (regardless of quality and cost) will only be a colour visual or representation of what you are trying to achieve

So where do I get chips?
Don't say it, it's too obvious

Chris,
I would find a local vinyl graphics company. Or any sign making company.
The Pantone color charts was created for the graphics industry. One of those places should be able to provide you with a color wheel or folding leaflet.
If no one can get you one locally, let me know. I can mail you one.
