Can anybody say wether a two litre selespeed box would fit on my 24 valver or do i only need an actuator unit alone?

The Selespeed is a mass of hydraulics and electronics bolted onto the outside of a standard AR gearbox. The only chance you have of making it work is to use the entire AR system, cables, ECUs and all - and that means the original engine controller too! It will probbaly want to talk to the ABS ECU and dashboard too so the best way is to cut the body off the Alfa donor and weld on a Stratos body!!

it was also prone to problems and failures. likley to be more trouble that worth.
I found it hard enough getting AR dealers to fix my 156 and 147 let alone trying to fix a faulty selespeed system in a non - AR car.
Still, i would love to see it if you manage to get it working!
Cheers
