:Di have now got the lancia twincam running after being stood since 1994! i have unseized it by putting diesel down the plug
holes into the bores let it stand for a few days and turned the crank nut with a large socket,i had to substitute the coil for another as i wasnt getting a big juicy bliue spark, then found no fuel getting through twin 40idf carbs as when neat petrol poored
through bellmouths on carbs it tried to run,so i have replaced the carb and inlet manifold with a standard beta 2000cc item wich i
prchased from beta parts reported to be in good condition, the car
eventually ran but fouls the plugs in about a minute and floods ,
severely i found the fuel to be rising out of the emulsion tubes and pooring over the top of the carb directly onto the butterflys,
its starts great from cold but floods,i took a quick look at the card it a weber 34 dat twin choke i cleaned the emulsion tubes washed it out in carb cleaner fitted a new top cover to body gasket the fuel pooring in seems to have have stopped and the cars starts easily but is reluctant to rev up,apply a slow increase in throttle slowly revs increase but it wont blip on throttle, but engine sounds fine as engine gets hotter when revs increased it backfires and tickover gos uneven, also consumes 1pint of fuel in about 60 seconds but think a lot of it may be going back by the fuel return to the tank as i am running it off a seperate supply at the moment a milk bottle, does anybody have any ideas what i can check next,i think it is a fuel or electrical fault could anybody shed any light, also i would like to try a carb none to be good on the car to purchase it to try does anybody have one, also my distributor has no advance and retard unit on it and there is a pipe on the card for this but i was advised just to plug it does the dizzy have bob weights in if they are seized could this cause the fault all
suggestions welcome

Thanks Simon
