Hi everyone,
Well after reading all the archives on building experiences and 'part built vs. new build' I've decided to say 'Sod it'.
I've just ordered my kit from Napiersport and hope to take delivery in about 7 weeks. Many thanks to John Davison for his input and for Lionel Gooch actually taking the time to visit and discuss things with me.
So, prepare yourselves for the silly questions to start.
I've just collected an Alfa 164 V6 and I'm preparing to strip for parts. Has anyone got a manual on CD or other that I can buy, borrow, rent or copy etc. Willing to contribute to costs of course. The car is an 89F and I'm just looking for engine removal and rebuild details. Also details on Hubs, brake discs & calipers etc. removal, rebuilding etc.
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks guys. Watch this space.
Mick

CD is available from CarDisc International. Its for the Alfa 164, and you'll need to know the engine designation (12 or 24V).
Steep, though, at about 75 quid.

Mick,
I have not been able to find any Haynes manual to cover the 164. You can buy an electronic parts book (CD) on ebay for around £5, but this is only a series of exploded diagrams with parts numbers identified. Maybe somebody on here has the Alfa Manual on disc, from which they could burn you a copy. Not that I condone that kind of activity you understand.......
Tim,
Mick was one of the guy's who had a sit in your car, and was therefore sold from that moment on!!

Hi Guys,
Yes I did visit the stand at Donington on the Saturday, Tim, I'm sorry I didn't get chance to meet you and I hope you didnt mind John allowing me to try it for size. The car is a credit to you. I hope I can finish mine to a similar standard.
Thanks again to all at Napiersport.
Mick.

Hi Mick
Well done. Make sure you pop in again if you're passing by. The Kettle is always on.

Rob,
Very rare I turn down a cup of coffee. I'll come over soon. Alternatively, you could always come down in the Strat and show the me what youve been messing about at. (only joking)
Talk soon.

Mick,
You're in business. Nero 6 just laughs at copyright, so Its possible to create a copy of the disc for 1991-1993 Alfa 164 V6 3-litre 12V, which would be CarDisc identity AR10017 Version 2.0
Drop me a PM if you're interested.
Arthur.
