Spotlamp pod puzzle

The Hawk spotlamp loom I've got is wired for H4 bulbs, i.e. full beam/dip type. This was a surprise as I'd expect it to be for 4 2-contact spotlamp bulbs. Why would you want dip beams on your pod? Is it legal?

Don't know Chris! Mine are wired through the stalks (via relays obviously) and the switch so they are easily controlled. Switch in at top = side, bottom = dip, stalk down one = main beam, down two = daylight. All easy to operate except in a panic when some poor sod comes round the bend into daylight at night only to have me go from everything to JUST main beam..... Not SVA compliant but it will be altered sometime soon!
