I was wondering if anyone (or a company) will build a kit stratos for me? I currently do not have the skills or the time to build a stratos, but it has been THE car I have always wanted. Given the £100000+ price tag attached to a real one I am not looking at getting one of those any time soon. If there was a company that built kit versions ...

I have really been considering getting a Mazda RX-8, but I though for £25000 I'm sure I could get someone to build me a kit version of my all time favourite looking car. Anyone out there sticking shells on cars for a living???

There are no companies sticking shells to cars as far as I am aware to make a Stratos replica. There are two companies manufacturing kits that are complete brand new chassis fitted with fiberglass bodies and ally flooring. They are Hawk Cars and Napier Sport, builders of the Hawk HF3000 and Corse S respectively. You have to decide which company you want to deal with but I suspect that your budget is not enough to make the Hawk a viable build for someone trying to earn a living doing it. I so not know the prices of the Corse S which has gone back into production this month but again, the budget might be marginal, speak to Lionel Gooch who may be able to gve you some ideas. The best route for you is to buy a finished car but the problems involved in that are seeing enough to learn what a decent one should look like. Trouble is, they are few and far between. Advice is to join the club and come along to a meet and see a few cars to get an idea.

Hi ... Look at the next thread down.... Chris Smith has a road registered car for sale and also runs his own garage and has built these in the past but it is up to you to convince Chris to build the car further to your spec !!... but work is work
