Hi Guys. Anyone wanting to put together a GRP 4 dash?
I have got two sets of Veglia black bezelled instraments from i think a Fiat 124, please do not ask from what exact model as I do not know.
They are the same style as I have seen used used in other Grp 4 Stratos replicas.
1 speedo is in MPH (140mph) while the other is in KPH (220kph)
Both sets contain the following:
Speedo
Rev counter
Fuel
Oil pressure
Water temp
Analogue clock (only 1).

There are also the following switches if needed.
Rocker switches:
Heated rear screen.
Lights.
Driving lights.
Rear fogs.
Wipers.

Rotary switches:
Instrament dimmer switches (2)
Wipers (2)

Please let me know if anyone wants anything on this list.

I can provide photos if required.

Cheers
Tim

Hi Mark, just checked. Both Rev counters are 8000 RPM. The mph speedo displays mph & kph, but the kph speedo is kph only.

Please make me an offer if you are still interested.

Hi I would be interested in KPH speedo only if you were prepared to split a set but would understand if you did not wish to.Regards Mark.

Hi Mark, I have no real problem splitting the set, if that is all you want, although I do want to clear these from the garage.
Please make me an offer as I have know idea what to charge for any of these.

Mark,

Have these speedo/tacho instruments got a deep 'tunnel' section in them (if that makes sense), or is the dial face fairly close to the glass front of the instrument?

I've got some Fiat/Veglia instruments which have a fairly large distance between the two surfaces and the overall depth of the gauge is slightly too much to fit in the dash where I want it without clearing the chassis cross member.

I believe some of the Fiat instruments are more shallow, or else some form of case transplant is needed with Leda parts. Anyone got the details (and even the parts) to do that?

Cheers,

Fiat 850 Spyder and some Fiat 124 speedometers have the shallow cases you are looking for, but there is a catch. The 124 gages that I have seen with the shallow case use a clip-on cable instead of the threaded one usually supplied by Hawk.

The 850 speedo has the correct threaded connection, but has been calibrated for a slightly higher cable speed. It will read low if you install it in place of a 124 speedo without recalibrating it.

Unless you're using smaller diameter tyres than the original that the speedo was designed for, which we might well be.
