I'm getting ready for the big day when the wheels arrive and have just bought a set of wheel bearing kits for the car. Two rear bearings with a CV joint nut and the hub carrier threaded lockring, two front bearing kits, inner and outer bearings, a seal plus a left and right nut in each kit. Prices were £25 for the rear and £15 for the front. £80 in all.

If anyone has trouble matching or beating these prices please let me know and I can organise another set or two. A bulk order may even see lower prices!

What does everyone think about stocking these within the club?

If they're beta and getting rare, it might be worth it, but the integrale ones should be available eaily for a while yet.

Just for the sake of covering the original Stratos, the rear wheel bearings are still available at SKF, ref. 633007C at 100 USD per side.

Or you could try these alternative bearings - at the price they must be better than SKF.........

These are the ones originally fitted by Lancia, already bought a pair a couple of days back...

They look remarkably similar to Beta ones........ I wonder if there was a commonality of parts at the time Lancia was starting out rallying with the Beta and Stratos back in 1973/4?
I will be removing some old ones from my car in the next 2 weeks - would you like a dead bearing to compare the two together?

I guess the simplest thing would be to read the SKF (or any other manufacturer's) code and see if they're identical. Otherwise you could throw your dead one in one of the 12" wheel boxes and as soon as I get it I'll let you know.

Any SKF dealer should be able to get them for you. I got a couple this year.
