I've connected up my HF3000 gear linkage and have a problem I can't figure out. With the clutch pedal fully pressed I can only select 1st, 3rd and 5th. Yet when the clutch is out I can select all gears. It makes no difference if the engine is running. Has anyone come across this problem or got any words of wisdom?
Thanks.

Is the clutch arm at the slave cylinder end fouling the join between the selector shaft and the hawk linkage as these are usually quite close to each other??

It sounds like the clutch lever arm is fouling the gearlinkage where it bolts to the Alfa selector rod that you took out and slid back in from the front. Take this part of the linkage off and radius the corners which should cure it.
It that isn't the problem then it must be that you're not getting enough rearward movement in the linkage and it needs adjusting. Try moving the joint at the bottom of the vertical link towards the shaft or the link at the top of the shaft away. Either should give more movement at the gear selector shaft and should allow you select the the missing gears.

Roger/Guy,
You were correct, it was gear selector shaft fouling on the clutch lever arm. All sorted now. Thanks,
Andrew.
