The Alfa 164 doesn't have an oil temperature sender. There is a long dipstick sender on the front of the block that is for an oil level warning light plus the oil pressere sender and warning light switch on the cylinder head. If you want to fit an oil temperature sender a boss will have to be welded to the sump tto allow a Fiat/Lancia sender to be used. Alternatively, you may be able to find a sender that replaces the sump plug.

Alternatively, drill and tap the sump plug to take a sender, I used the one off my previous beta engine as I knew it worked OK with the guage.
