An entry has been confirmed for March 21 , in a rally starting at Honiton, This wil be the first proper rally for our new car , The event is a multi venue Tarmac rally, spectating is easiest at Smeatharpe aerodrome.
The event is the Bornemouth car club Three counties rally, second round of the South West championship.
Next event is Monteberg , in Belgium , Then Rally des Flandres in France, in June, about 1.5hours from Calais
The organisers of the French rally would be pleased to receive a display of cars at the start venue in the centre of the town, there may be deals on hotels to assist and ferries.
The whole town takes on a party atmosphere.
Any one interested in coming along in March to Honiton, or France on June 6/7 please contact me.

Hi Gary,
Andy G has probably let you know already, but I'm up for holding the odd spanner for you on Sunday :)
Should I bring anything other than my sparkling personality along with me?

Looking forward to seeing you on the day , hopefully we will find lots of dirty deeds for you to complete.
Car nearly ready, new Willwoods and discs , big rad , light weight panels , new paint , jacking points in sills .
Even fitted some trim!
Just added personnel registration.
So all the bits look good , just need a driver now to give it death.
It needs a few scratches on it to make it authentic and feel lived in.
Already entered Monteberg in Belgium and booked holiday to go to France.
This will probably be the last year for a replica/kit car to be allowed to rally in France , and maybe Belgium , with an engine over 3000cc, so I really would like to do to big nationals in France
Maybe the other owners should get together for the last event I will be going to In October in France to put on a display

That would be your job then I think....

Great to see a proper car out on our event, Ihope that the sealed surface was not too undulating. Congratulations on getting round, and for putting in some very consistent times when a lot of the 4wd brigade were dropping by thewayside ( or hitting gate posts!)
There are a good set of thumbnails on the official photographers site ( www.tonylargephotographic.co.uk), by thenumber of shots he is displaying, he likes the stratos !
I am glad to report that the weekend has re kindled my enthusiasm, and the covers came off my part built group B Hawk tonight, and I spent a couple of hours on the wiring.
I won`t make Abingdon this year, but 2005 is now definatly on the cards.
Rob .

If you check out pictures 1500 and 1635, you will spot a difference, Gary can best explain that one!;)

To me the Stratos is all about rallying , I enjoy the car in a number of ways but to rally it , regardless of the possibility of a bit of damage , is what it was built for.
OK if any users of this forum wish to guess what is the differance in the 2 pictures Andy is talking about, but with a written guess as to why or what ,I will offer a trip out in the car as a co pilot on the July test day. To the best response,
Andy and Chris and Mechanic Mick are excluded.
The event was enjoyed by both Carol, copilot and myself , the car ran faultlessly, some competitors reported it a little rough in places , Our car is prepared for that and we did not find it a problem.
The wether did its best to reduce traction !, this meant we ran on road tyres all day, not daring to go for slicks.
The objective was to give the car its first outing , and in this we were sucessful. The result was 20o/a 4 in class, we were 17 o/a and 2nd in class , then it rained!
One more rally is planned , and then its off to France for a 2 day national , closed public road event.
So come on eagle eyes , lets hear your best guesses at the differance and why, you may be the one to come out for a spin ,

Well you lost/took off your front number plate - overheating perhaps?

Ah, Spoilsport!! :D :D :(
As already mentioned, the car ran excellently (considering what was thrown at it). Gary drove well all day and did his best in bringing the car back absolutely plastered in mud but thankfully, the car didnt miss a beat so we didnt have to get too dirty and wet (this time).
Bodes well for the season i feel and if it wasn't for the monsoon on the last stage, the result would have APPEARED much better.
20th overall was a good result.

Could'nt agree more, Only wish Icould get mine together quicker.
Gary would you be able to email me sketches or pics of your engine mounts? Trying not to reinvent the wheel and save some time hopefully

Ps Number plate missing due to terminal understeer coming off tarmac on to loose then gently hitting some thing! ( never known Gary to have an overheating problem, cant see why they would start now)

That's a prize worth a guess....
...pity I'm excluded though :(
...and I still haven't got all the mud out of my wooly Homer Simpson hat after the mess Gary made. We did notice how the car seemed to come back much cleaner after the last stage of the day though. Gary will insist that this was just due to the downpour but I reckon it was to save him some work cleaning the car :D

Has anyone been awarded the prize on offer and what did happen?
