Where have peeps put their nozzles on the Hawk / Alfa installation? The air inlet/fuel pipes, exhaust manifolds and the alternator are presumably the bits that need to be covered. The instructions on mine say something like " nothing within 30cm of the nozzle" which seems unachievable to me.

I put two on the chassis rail below the rear window angled to catch from each end of the fuel rail downwards covering the exhaust manifold and alternator with a third nozzle in the right side rear corner of the chassis covering the fuel rail again down to the rear exhaust manifold.
Pull cable is under the nose section by an indicator (on the basis that if I lose it it will be a spin and it might just be accessible) plus a second release under the dashboard.

Haven't looked at it for a while, but how often should these the bottles be serviced and refilled?

I also carry a handheld under the passengers legs just in case!

Thanks Guy. Look on the bottle - it usually has some indication of when the last / next service is. Something like 2 - 3 years I think.

So, not 7 or 8 then? Another job to be done!

Guy,
If your system is that old then it is surely a Halon filled one? If that is the case I dont think you will get anybody to service it as they are now deemed illegal. Having said that it is still the best stuff to put out fires and if I had the choice it would be what I would stick with. If you are going to compete in motorsport that requires you to carry a system then you will have to replace it.
