Congratulations to John Rutter for winning Class A in his Hawk HF3000 Lancia Stratos Replica.The final round of the Auto Italia Championship was held at Silverstone, John Rutter drove an excellent race in very wet conditions to claim sufficient points to ensure victory in Class A and 7th Overall in the Championship. The ninth round of the Auto Italia Championship was held at snetterton on Monday 31st August 1999. The race was won by Tony Soper in a CAE Corse (Lancia Stratos Replica), but as Championship Organiser he does not score points in the championship. John Rutter finished in third place in his Lancia Stratos Replica, and first in Class A. John had the added satisfaction of setting the fastest lap, and gained extra points for this which will prove useful in his bid for championship honours, which will resume at the final race at silverstone on September 26th 1999.
John Rutter's Hawk HF3000 is currently leading Class A in the Auto Italia 99 Series, after the first nine rounds, and looks ideally placed to take the class victory at the end of the season. John is also lying 2nd Overall in the championship, although he will be unable to overhaul championship leader Alex Heynes on the last round. Click on 99 Results to see more.
